I am seeking advice on a brake pad that generates less brake dust than the OEM Volvo pads but is quiet and provides strong brake performance. I drive a 2007 V70 26,000 miles a year and I'm constantly cleaning the rims. Thank you.

Dustless pads come in hard and soft and squeak and no-squeak plus some are "green" (no asbestos, etc.).

Let us know your choice(s) as most pads for your '07 V70 are available at the local O'Realy.

As a follow up to this question I purchased the Rotex Gold RTX Premium Kevlar Pads and the Centric High Carbon discs at the recommendation of Brake warehouse. After 8,000 miles the pads have worn so unevenly that I will have to replace them. (Lydell Motors of North Haven CT did the installation. They have cared for my Volvo since 1985.) This is disappointing as the pad is quiet and produces little brake dust.

I would be grateful for any thoughts or suggestions.

From the pic it appears that the lug bolts/nuts have been over-torqued over time. This can distort the hub at the mating surface.
