I have to admit, this is weird.

We have a 2010 XC70 and every week or so, when I turn on the radio, I find that every button is set to 103.5 FM. All 10 buttons. I thought my wife was doing it until I said something to her about it and she said she thought I was doing it.

So, either we have gremlins sneaking into the car at night or there is way too much buggy software running our vehicles.

Has anyone experienced anything like this or know of a resolution?

From: esd.volvocars.com/local/us/2011-Volvo-XC70-Owners-Manual.pdf

Automatically storing preset stations
The function is especially useful in areas where
the radio stations and their frequencies are
unfamiliar. The ten strongest radio stations are
stored automatically in a separate memory.

...and here is why all ten stored FM stations are 103.5...

From the UK...
On my v70 I encountered this a couple of times and got upset that people had changed the stations when servicing the car and finally found out that the radio had 3 FM memories and when I thought it had been retuned it hadn't been and all that had happened was I had selected another memory

I think that you cycle through them by pressing the FM button so you cycle through memory 1, memory 2, memory 3 and back to memory 1.

Now I must find a fix for your balky Gear-Tronic.

I'll have to check this out, but when it was new I purposely ran it through Autostore and it found many stations. There are a lot of stations in SLC. None of them very good, but they are plentiful. I'll admin I forgot about this feature, but I don't recall seeing "AutoStoring" on the display.

The thing that made me suspicious was that every once in a while we get nothing but static from the system. It sounds like AM static, but it is on CD, MP3, FM and AM. The only way to clear it is to shut the car off, wait 15-30 minutes and restart. It will usually return to normal. I don't know if there are any diagnostics in the system, but the dealer has never been able to duplicate the problem. Intermittent issues like this are extremely difficult to troubleshoot, so I won't hold it against them.

So, no gremlins? But they're so cute and fuzzy....

Thanks for the research and the reminder George.
