2,300,000 + miles: Brrrrr! Jan 29, 2005 Sure glad I got to travel coast to coast for the 3rd time by the middle of November as this has been one miserable winter so far. Last trip out after the San Diego meet was to Las Vegas. Hit 13 inches of snow and more at 12,000 feet in the mountains above Denver. Don't ever let me hear someone say anything bad about rear wheel drive. I'll stack up my 1800 with it's Bridgestone, Blizzaks against anything else on the road...except for maybe the XC-90 AWD which has a few more creature comforts while doing it's thing. Took the southern route home and hit 2200 miles of rain instead of the snow found in the higher elevations. This was an exceptionally great ride as the odometer went to all zero's again making an even 2.3 million miles. Stopped in a resturant in the middle south of Nevada or the north of Arizona where the entire staff, including the cook, wore six guns in cross draw holsters. The waitress was the only one wearing one ( a nickel plated Lady Smith .38) on her right hip. Can't wait to be back to Rosie's on my next trip to Vegas. The food was terrific and I made some new friends. |
